Fashion trends tend to change with likes and dislikes of fashion setters and followers. Same tradition goes for the jewelry world. New jewelry styles and trends are frequently being introduced and it is quite an excitement to watch what is in and what is out.

Hot Jewelry Trends of 2010:

Key pendants:
In the year 2009, Key pendants came up with a bang and became unpredictably popular among many people. 2010 expects more jewelry fans to get attracted towards this trendy piece. A unique selection in this fragment of jewelry could be rose gold metal instead of the traditional yellow and popular white gold.

Diamond Lock Pendants:
The newly arrived jewelry is the Lock Pendant and retailers are hoping that this can set the new fashion just like key pendants did in the last year. Its unique looking designs bring about novelty in the overall appearance of the wearer. Diamonds on Lock pendants make them even more sparkling and attractive to the viewers.

Dangling earrings:
Dangling earrings were liked by many women in the previous year and preferred to accessorize themselves with this type of earring. Such type of earring gives a glamorous look to the overall personality of women. These are expected to continue to be the favorite of many ladies this year too.

Yellow gold jewelry:
Since quite a long time, people had turned their eyes towards white gold and silver. But yellow gold is back and in trend now. Getting noticed is what one likes nowadays, hence making this metal more popular. Its substantial pros like no change in its color and look and non-tarnishing feature keeps it a step ahead of metals like white gold and silver.

Bigger, the better:
From big cocktail rings to stack of big bangles and bold jewelry is liked by ladies. Although this fashion had come into notice and followed since long, it has managed to stay in trend because of the daring look that it emits.

Following these trends may not be liked by all; such people are usually proved to be the fashion setters. They bring in new trends and others follow it making it the latest style. You may also try out new jewelry designs and set the fashion for all!

In the 1920s Coco Chanel became tired of having to carry her handbags in her arms and decided to design a handbag that freed up her hands. Inspired by the straps found on soldiers’ bags she added thin straps and introduced the resulting design to the market in 1929.

After her successful comeback to the fashion industry in 1954 Chanel decided to update her handbag, for the modern women. The resulting design was called 2.55 after the date of creation, February 1955.

The bag has a number of features:

1, The lining. The lining’s brown colour represents the colour of the uniforms at the convent where she grew up.

2, The zippered compartment. There is a zippered compartment at the inside of the front flap. That’s where Chanel is rumoured to have stored her……, click to view the full article.

3, The backside. The backside has a back outside flap for storage of money.

4, The chains. Chanel recognising that the modern women needed to have their hands free while attending social functions designed a double chain shoulder strap, something common in downmarket products, but rare in luxury circles at the time. The chains were attached by leather-threaded chain inserted though eyelets. The caretakers of the convert she grew up at hold the keys at their waist dangling from the same type of chains as the 2.55 shoulder strap chains.

5, The front lock. The bag originally came with a front lock called “the Mademoiselle Lock” (in reference to Coco Chanel never marrying). Since the 1980s versions can also be supplied with a lock in the shape of a double CC logo. These called “Classic Flaps”.

6, The pattern. The bag has a quilted diamond or herringbone pattern on the exterior. Using a running stitch, this gives the bag shape and volume. The pattern is believed to have been inspired by several sources: by jockeys’ riding coats, the stained-glass windows of the abbey at Aubazine, as well as by the cushions in Chanel’s Paris apartment.
