The Oscar’s Style Alert – Strapless Gowns!

At this year’s Academy Awards ceremony, not only were red gowns a huge hit amongst the style divas in the industry, but strapless gowns were also a must! If you’re preparing for a fancy event, find out how you too can look gorgeous like Jessica Alba, Cameron Diaz, and Renee Zellweger!
Tip: Nix the necklace! The trend for 2008 is to pair a strapless gown with…nothing! Most of these style queens opted for a bare neck, while wearing simple earrings, rings, and bracelets.
Sweet Honey star Jessica Alba looked absolutely glowing in her Marchesa gown, and it wasn’t just because she is expecting! The plum-hued gown matched perfectly with Alba’s complexion and she looked like she truly was floating down the aisle. Her accessories featured a yellow-gold color pair of diamond earrings, with matching layered bangles.
Tip: Yellow-gold jewelry looks absolutely marvelous with gowns of a richer tone, such as plum, navy, or dark green.
There certainly is something about Cameron Diaz. Her light-blush colored Dior by John Galliano gown also matched perfectly with her skin-tone, while the strapless neckline perfectly demonstrated her always-sculpted physique. Again Diaz chose to nix the necklace while sporting a cocktail ring and simple, diamond earrings.
Tip: If your tresses are not cooperating on your big night, simply pull your locks back into a loose ponytail like Cameron. I don’t care what the style critics say, she looks absolutely glamorous!
Presenter and Jerry Maguire star Renee Zellweger looked simply stunning in a silver beaded Carolina Herrera gown. As opposed to the simple, solid colors of Cameron’s and Jessica’s strapless gowns, Renee’s ensemble is all glitter and glitz, which makes it necessary to limit ones accessories. All Renee has to do to top off this ensemble is to slip on a couple of matching bangles and off she goes!
Tip: Note that each actress is wearing a gown that perfectly compliments her skin-tone. For richer olive-colored skin, deeper hues look absolutely phenomenal. For pale skin, pastel colors are a perfect match!
